Past continuous (was doing)
A regra
Was/were + verbo-ing para uma ação em andamento no passado. Com when, uma ação curta interrompe a longa; com while, duas ações acontecem juntas.
Como se forma
I/he/she/it was + -ing · you/we/they were + -ing
At eight, we were having dinner.
Às oito, estávamos jantando.
was/were + -ing … when + simple past
I was cooking when the lights went out.
Eu estava cozinhando quando a luz acabou.
while + was/were + -ing
While she was driving, he was sleeping.
Enquanto ela dirigia, ele dormia.
Erros comuns
