Possessivos: my, mine e 's
A regra
My, your, his, her, our, their vêm antes do substantivo; mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs ficam sozinhos. Para dono com nome, use 's: Ana's car.

my / your / his / her / our / their + substantivo
Their house is near the park.
A casa deles fica perto do parque.
mine / yours / his / hers / ours / theirs
That umbrella is mine.
Aquele guarda-chuva é meu.
nome + 's / plural + '
My sister's dog is huge.
O cachorro da minha irmã é enorme.
Erros comuns
Paulo is in he room.Paulo is in his room.
Para posse, use his, não he.
The car of my father is old.My father's car is old.
Com pessoas, o natural é 's: my father's car.
This book is your.This book is yours.
Sem substantivo depois, use yours.
