Dedução: must, might, can't
A regra
Para deduzir: must = tenho certeza que sim; might/could/may = talvez; can't = tenho certeza que não. No passado: must/might/can't have + particípio.
Como se forma
must be (sure: yes)
You must be tired after that trip.
Você deve estar cansado depois dessa viagem.
might / could / may (maybe)
Take an umbrella. It might rain later.
Leve um guarda-chuva. Pode chover mais tarde.
can't be (sure: no)
That can't be Tom. He's in Paris.
Não pode ser o Tom. Ele está em Paris.
must have + participle (past)
The street is wet. It must have rained.
A rua está molhada. Deve ter chovido.
Erros comuns
He mustn't be at home; the lights are off.He can't be at home; the lights are off.
Certeza de que não: can't. Mustn't é proibição.
She must to be busy.She must be busy.
Depois de must, o verbo vem sem to.
They might have forget.They might have forgotten.
Depois de have, use o particípio (forgotten).
