    Orações relativas (who, which, that)

    A regra

Use who para pessoas, which para coisas, that para os dois, where para lugares e whose para posse. Não repita o sujeito ou o objeto depois.

    Como se forma

    • person + who

The woman who lives next door is a pilot.

A mulher que mora ao lado é piloto.

    • thing + which/that

This is the phone that I bought online.

Este é o celular que comprei pela internet.

    • place + where

That's the café where we met.

Aquele é o café onde nos conhecemos.

    • whose + noun

I have a friend whose father is a chef.

Tenho um amigo cujo pai é chef.

    Erros comuns

    • The man which called you is here.

The man who called you is here.

Para pessoas, use who (ou that), não which.

    • The book that I read it was great.

The book that I read was great.

O that já ocupa o lugar do objeto: não repita it.

    • The girl who her bag was stolen cried.

The girl whose bag was stolen cried.

Para posse, use whose + substantivo.
