Discurso indireto (reported speech)
A regra
Para contar o que alguém disse, o verbo geralmente volta um tempo (is → was, will → would). Em perguntas indiretas, a ordem é de afirmação: she asked where I lived.
Como se forma
said (that) + one tense back
He said he was tired.
Ele disse que estava cansado.
told + person + (that)
She told me she would call later.
Ela me disse que ligaria mais tarde.
asked + if + statement order
They asked if I was ready.
Eles perguntaram se eu estava pronto.
asked + where/what + subject + verb
She asked where I lived.
Ela perguntou onde eu morava.
Erros comuns
She said me that she was busy.She told me that she was busy.
Say não leva a pessoa direto; com a pessoa, use tell: told me.
He asked where did I work.He asked where I worked.
Na pergunta indireta, ordem de afirmação e sem did.
She asked me do I like jazz.She asked me if I liked jazz.
Pergunta de sim/não vira if (ou whether).
