"People is" está correto?
Não. People é plural em inglês, então o verbo vai no plural: "people are". "The people in the meeting are waiting." Para uma pessoa só, use person: "one person is". "A people" existe apenas no sentido de "um povo".

"Persons" existe, mas é formal e aparece em textos legais e avisos ("Maximum 8 persons"). No dia a dia, o plural de person é people.
